PEPA (Pequeño Evento de Performance Art), an independent performance art event that has been held periodically since January 2018, with the aim of promoting the art of action. Over these 6 years, 115 artists have participated in PEPA, including 70 women ranging from 18 to 80 years old, representing 15 different nationalities. We have successfully achieved gender parity.
On this occasion, to celebrate the month of March, we will have an all-female lineup. Three artists from different nationalities: Mónica Aranegui, Spanish; Mónica Mura, Italian; and Sandra Corrigan Breathnach, Irish (the first two are members of MAV), share a common interest in the traditions and history of their respective territories from a female perspective. They reject discrimination and highlight the role of women as pillars of society since ancient times, though often overlooked.
They will present, for the first time, their proposals specially crafted for the Est_Art gallery space and for the PEPA event in the women's month. A fresh, direct, and creative way to bring the art of action to both audiences familiar and unfamiliar with this mode of expression!
